Guadeloupe Vacations

Summary
Guadeloupe Vacation Packages are rich with travel discounts, activities to explore once you get there and best of all, plenty of suggestions of beaches for you to revel on.
Guadeloupe is basically a bunch of islands, with the two main islands being eastern Grand-Terre (beach towns) and western Basse-Terre (nature at its best, including the La Soufriere volcano and the Carbet Falls)...with a mangrove swamp & bridges connecting the two. You will hear the national language of Guadeloupe as French, but you can also add in a smidge of Antillean Creole as well.
The more notable beaches are Baie de Pont Pierre, Plage des Raisins Clairs, Baie du Marigot, Anse Souffleur and Anse Laborde (often deserted but lovely!). Acts of crime are at an all-time low in Guadeloupe, as the tourism industry has picked up substantially and most accommodations are in well-appointed areas.
Culture
Guadeloupe Vacation Packages will bring you back in time and history, for in 1493, it was Christopher Columbus that named Guadeloupe (Santa Maria de Guadalupe), but this explorer was not the first person to land on this island. The Arawak people actually landed here in 300 A.D and remained until the 8th Century, when the Caribs decided to obliterate the civilization and take it over as their own and settle. After the beginning of the 16th Century, that is when the French decided to colonize Guadeloupe.
The British decided in the 17th Century that Guadeloupe was worth a takeover, and after successfully casting out the French, it was then decided that Canada was worth far more than these islands and returned Guadeloupe back to the French (hence the Treaty of Paris and the end to the Seven Years’ War).
Exploration
For a little bit of fun out of the sun, you can take a ‘rummy side visit’ to the Distillerie Poisson for a taste & tour. Guadeloupe Vacations has no problem keeping your ‘nature-lover’ side occupied, as you can visit the Cascade aux Ecrevisses and Chutes du Carbet (waterfalls) or hike up the Le Chameau Tower (the lookout tower is the highest point on the island and the views are beyond incredible!).
Food
Vacation Packages in Guadeloupe are going to continue your journey through your taste buds. Culinary delights are a beautiful balance between French & Creole (Carib, African and Asian influences). The Creole side of things have a heavily spiced, locally sourced fish, vegetable and tomato sauce base. The flipside of French cuisine here will have traditional French affairs, such as foie gras, lobster profiteroles, pork, lamb or red snapper items.
Drinks are mostly rum-based, as there are many distilleries on the islands. Ti Punch (rum, sugarcane syrup, lime), Planters Punch (rum, sugarcane syrup, fruit juice, pomegranate syrup) and the even more refreshing Shrub (rum and orange peels).
Nightlife
The nightlife is just as absorbing as everything else with the Vacations in Guadeloupe. For a more relaxed and lighter way to spend an evening, you can venture into the Cafe Caraibe and just socialize. Just outside of Guadeloupe in Portsmouth, the Sunset Bar has a great vibe and friendly atmosphere.
If you are in Guadeloupe in January, then you will be able to party the night away during the annual Carnival and in August, you can enjoy the traditional foods, music and partying of the Fete des Cuisinieres.
